Leading UK video conferencing and telepresence service provider Videocall today launched version 5 of their VaaS platform ICE (Intelligent Cloud Experience). As well as now containing a dynamic directory, the ICE platform has been integrated with Polycom® RealConnect™ and Polycom® RealPresence® Web Suite Pro services providing even more enterprise functionality in the cloud.
The addition of Polycom® RealConnect™ takes full advantage of the millions of businesses that are currently using Microsoft’s Skype for Business on a daily basis and enables them to connect seamlessly with endpoints using other services whilst staying within their native content environment.
Polycom® RealConnect™ is the only service that delivers single scheduling and dialling workflow within Skype for Business, whilst also leveraging the power of Microsoft Outlook. It also has the ability for single click-to-join for both Skype for Business clients and Polycom endpoints.
Managing Director of Videocall Rob Portwood said “Adding Polycom® RealConnect™ to our ICE service was a must. We know that many companies are using Skype for Business as part of the solution to their video conferencing needs. What we have in ICE now, allows the seamless connecting of all the workers on different platforms, whilst they continue to have the functionality and layout that they are used to. It is another step in our continual evolution of the ICE platform whereby we are delivering enterprise functionality to the cloud”.
The further addition of RealPresence® Web Suite Pro to the latest ICE update adds further benefits from one of Polycom’s most popular services. Polycom recently launched the new look platform that includes features including multi-stream content sharing, whilst remaining the industry’s most interoperable, scalable and secure video infrastructure solution.
Rob continued, “our partnership with Polycom allows us to push the boundaries of our own services, which in turn continues to bring benefits to our customers. We know how our customers work, and we know what they want to be able to do via video conferencing. Between Videocall and Polycom, we will not only get there, but continually go beyond their expectations”.
"This a fantastic opportunity for our customers who are increasingly looking for solutions to bring their existing voice and video platforms in to the world of Lync and Skype for Business”, said Charlie James, Alliance Director EMEA, Polycom. “The Videocall ICE service now allows customers to take full advantage of Polycom and Skype for Business solutions and integrate them into their existing platforms without having to place any additional infrastructure on premise. By the first half of 2016 customers moving to Office 365 will also be able to make use of the Videocall ICE service. What is really great about Videocall ICE is that customers can take up the service in a phased approached which allows for greater adoption in the long run"
